Meeting Minutes

8:00 p.m. October 28, 2004

  • Mike Bauman called meeting to order and welcomed Father James Adams
  • Opening Prayer – Father James
  • Roll Call - 19 members present – Officers present: Baumann, Rebholz, Schiferl, Tennessen
  • September 30 th Minutes : Approved Treasurer's Report: Approved…Current Financial Position = $35,616, Total of all commitments = $33,456 which includes an approved budget of $25,000 for the ball field irrigation system. Financial Position with all commitments paid =$2,160.
  • Old Business
    • Oktoberfest Update – Financial Results: Receipts = $29,228, Disbursements = $11,742 which results in net event income of $17,485. Thank you letters have been sent except to the Simones family from Webster for the hayrides.
    • Upcoming Events –
      • Fall pancake breakfast – scheduled Nov 7 th
      • Wine Auction – Scheduled Nov 12 th at Prestwick Golf Club. A few tickets remain.
      • Adopt-a-Highway fall cleanup – scheduled 9:00 Saturday, Nov 6 th.
      • November 18 th Membership Drive meeting – Tinucci's, Newport. Members are encouraged to bring new member candidates. A $50 prizewill be awarded to the member who recruits the most new members. Announcements to be included in Sunday bulletin.
      • Christmas Party at Awada's – December 16 th Members are encouraged to bring door prizes however this is not mandatory.
    • Men's Club Directory Report – Roughly one half of the feedback questionnaires have been returned. In the process of requesting profile updates, members were given the opportunity to "opt out" of the club. Five members chose this option. We have 138 members of which about 65% are active. Instead of producing a hardcopy directory we will send the Men's Club Roster electronically.
    • Men's Club Information Sheet – to be completed and offered at the new parishioner welcome table.
    • Athletic Field Project Update – Balance of the original commitment of $18,440 + 10% contingency still in the budget to be paid is $7379.83. Budget for installation of irrigation system = $25,000 of which $147.47 has been disbursed to date.
    • Adopt-a-Family – Motion was made and carried to authorize Men's Club sponsorship of two families of 4 at Christmas. Cost per family expected: about $300…not to exceed $400 each family.
  • New Business – Paul Rebholz thanked all those who have supported his campaign for Woodbury City Council.
